We are based at Dunstan Hospital in Clyde, 8km from Alexandra. Dunstan Hospital is the hub delivering a wide range of community, inpatient and outpatient services to around 35,000 people living in the Central Otago and Wanaka regions. This includes a 24 acute bed inpatient ward, District Nursing Services, and a wide range of Allied Health Services.

(Fixed Term December to February)
Dunstan Hospital is looking for staff to fulfil a busy cleaning role working for a three-month period. Training will be provided to comply with our Infection and Control and Health and Safety practices. Dunstan Hospital has embarked on a new cleaning regime utilising steam cleaning which eliminates the need for any chemicals.
Days of Work will be varied to cover our 7-day operation and may include public holidays.
Hours of Work: 3.30 pm – 9.30 pm
Please note that penal rates apply for weekends and public holidays. The successful applicant will need to be flexible with their start and finish times to suit the needs of the hospital.
Applicants will need to:
Be enthusiastic and have a good sense of humour.
Have previous cleaning experience preferably in a healthcare facility.
Excellent time management skills whilst being able to work under pressure and unsupervised.
Have an eye for detail verging on fussy – loves cleaning.
Have confident communication skills with all levels of personnel and patients. Please note this role will involve some patient interaction whilst undertaking this role.
Abide by our confidentiality policies and procedures.
Show a high standard of personal presentation. A uniform will be supplied.

Project Manager – Rural Hospitals, Fulltime Fixed-Term one year
Central Otago Health Services Ltd / Dunstan Hospital, Central Otago
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the six rural hospitals operating within the Southern District Health Board catchment area.
The rural hospitals of Clutha Health First, Central Otago Health Services Ltd, Gore Health, Lakes District Hospital Queenstown, Maniototo Health and Waitaki Health have joined together to create this new position of Project Manager to work on projects which will strengthen the rural hospital network and reduce the inequities experienced by rural populations and maximise organisational efficiencies and effectiveness. This will account for 0.6FTE of the fixed-term fulltime role.
A second aspect to this role will be to work on projects with a specific COHSL/Dunstan Hospital quality improvement focus. This will account for 0.4FTE of the fixed-term fulltime role.
The post holder will be employed by COHSL on behalf of all the partner organisations and will report to the COHSL Chief Executive.

District Nurse - Casual
Central Otago Health Services Ltd, Central Otago
Expressions of interest are sought from registered nurses interested in working in our District Nursing team.
As this is a Casual position, there are no set hours or days of work so flexibility with availability is vital. The successful applicant will demonstrate an interest in working within the community providing nursing care to people in their home. This position requires excellent time management skills, and an ability to work independently whilst supporting the rest of the team.
The role will primarily be based at Dunstan Hospital, but rotation to our Wanaka base may occur.
The applicant must have:
A current practising certificate
A minimum of two years post registration experience
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
Confident computer skills
A clean driver’s license
Previous experience working as a district nurse is preferred. Current eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential.
