
Charge Nurse, District Nursing

We have a great opportunity for a registered nurse with leadership and district nursing experience interested in this key leadership position within our District Nurse team at Dunstan Hospital. The Charge Nurse District provides strong clinical leadership to our district nursing team, ensuring we provide a consistently high standard of clinical care to patients and their families/whanau, whilst acting as a positive role model across the organisation. The successful applicant will work closely with the medical team and all members of the wider multidisciplinary team.
Specifically, the Charge Nurse is responsible for the management of the DN Service including clinical leadership & coordination, operational functions, quality and financial performance, human resource management, quality and risk management, clinical pathway development and other service delivery improvements within the district team.
The Charge Nurse role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am-4.30pm.
The applicant must have:

A current practicing certificate.

Experience leading nursing staff.

Specialist wound care skills or experience.

A minimum of six years post registration experience.

Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.

Be dynamic, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.

Have great leadership and inter-personal skills.

Confident computer skills.
-
Experience in a rural environment would be helpful.

Someone who cares about rural healthcare and its challenges.

Current Drivers Licence.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
