Are you looking for a new challenge in rural health care? Want to feel valued and part of a great team? We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated registered nurse to join our team as an Associate Charge Nurse.

Dunstan Hospital is a rural trust hospital based in Clyde, Central Otago. Our ward comprises 24 beds, including a 3 bed High Dependency Unit. We provide a wide range of healthcare services for a large geographical area, two and half hours from our base hospital in Dunedin.

We provide acute medical care, trauma/emergency medical care (no walk in ED) rehabilitation and palliative care throughout the age spectrum.

 

The Associate Charge Nurse provides clinical leadership of the nursing team and manages the day to day functioning of the ward to deliver patient centred care. You will work closely with our friendly medical team and all members of the wider multidisciplinary team.

 

This role is a 0.7FTE (56 hours/ fortnight) position that has a fixed roster across morning and afternoon shifts, including weekends.

What we are looking for:

• NZ registration

• Current APC

• Minimum of five years recent acute nursing experience

• PDRP – Expert or Proficient working towards Expert

• Are self-motivated, positive, and enthusiastic in service delivery

• Ability of focus on quality and risk management

• Genuine and committed team player
